I did some quick research and found a definition of an idol from Tim Keller’s book Counterfeit Gods. Tim explains that an idol is “anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, and anything that you seek to give you what only God can give.” I’m floored…anything that “absorbs your heart and imagination more than God…”
